Re: Electrical question
开云体育The PP will have connection terminals as follows:L1, L2 - these are the inputs to the PP and where you connect the 230VAC supply line from your breaker panel T1, T2, T3 - these are the output of the PP. ? T1 and T2 are passed through directly from L1 and L2 respectively. ?Depending on the options you choose with your PP order, these may or may not remain hot when the PP is turned off. T3 is the manufactured leg On a Felder sliding table saw, there will be a pigtail wire with multiple colors:

Re: Electrical question
开云体育Hi John, With PP there is really not a high (voltage) on the manufactured leg as can be expected with Rotary Phase Converters. Even though the PP is super reliable it still does not hurt to avoid connecting the manufactured leg to the electronics in the machine. If I was having this done, I would ask the electrician to label the outlet as L1, L2, T3; ground should be identified by default. Then when you hook up the machine you can ensure that L1 and L2 connect to the machine electronics and T3 only goes to the motor. I am basing this on 700 and 900 series machines (actually my Format 4 dual 51 is wired the same) and assuming that Kappa 450 is same. You can always share the machine wiring diagram with the group to be sure. BTW, you should be able to ask for a soft copy of the wiring diagram for your machine. I prefer to have the manual and electrical on my phone (and computer) and the paper copy is only referenced occasionally. I will tell the electrician I do not need a neutral.

He has a question about a “high leg” that I cannot answer - hopefully the user manual will give him instructions on which wire to connect where.

I certainly appreciate everyone who has chimed in to help me!

Re: Electrical question
In addition to what Imran wrote, Felder is generally an EU company, and the machines are expected to usually work with EU voltage.
The voltage between a phase and the natural in EU is 230V. so if there is a component that needs a 230V, in the US it will be connected between to 2 phases. Having said that, you might want at some point to connect another machine (power feeder?/light?/air compressor?), so a natural natural wire for that circuit might not be a bad idea.

Re: Electrical question
FWIW my 2023 10kw Format4 profil z x-motion doesn't use a neutral. I'm not sure if the same motors and electronics are shared between their shapers and saws or not. On Thu, Jul 25, 2024, 7:01?PM John Hinman via <jhinman1911=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Electrical question
开云体育I was curious about my old PP unit. The manual does not show a connection for the neutral. Not sure if same is true for the newer models. Neutral is not needed by the PP to produce 3 phase but it could be needed by a machine. Not a code expert, but I assume in such case neutral can be just passed through the PP unit.Imran Malik On Jul 25, 2024, at 6:46?PM, Imran Malik <imranindiana@...> wrote:

He just asked me this question “Do you know if the table saw requires a neutral?”
?
I have no idea- might someone help me out?
?
As a follow-on question for the FOG, does this electrician’s question indicate that he does not know what he is doing?
?
Thanks much!
