Re: Overarm Guard Modification
I also leave mine unbolted. There's enough friction when it goes home that I don't worry about it moving on its own. A ball-detent or spring loaded pin and brass bushing would give you the postive stop you seem to be looking for. Or, you could go exotic like a big electromagnet, but the holding current might run up your utility bill.?

Felder dust collection vs cyclone
I just sold my old dust collector (Oneida 5HP supercell) for a preparation for my new slider (the supercell only support 1 - 5” port) and about to order a new unit (Oneida dust gorilla pro 5HP with VFD).
now I started to started to think maybe I should also consider the euro DC. The gorilla pro costs ~$4500 so it is in the range of the RL140. for people with the Felder DC, what do you think about it? have you ever compared it to a cycle? my big machinery: Felder K700s with overhead dust? Hammer N4400 Hammer HS950 - edge sander? Hammer A3-31 (will be probably swapped with AD951 in near future) Planning to add a shaper (F700z?) |

Felder Branded Machine Securement "Buttons"
I was going to ask before I started down the 3D Printing route if anyone knew of the price/part number and availability of the small grey "Buttons" that Felder uses on their felder branded machines to hold in access panels. Whilst I hate the design I've got a few broken ones and would like to replace them.
Thanks Karl |

Re: Overarm Guard Modification
I have not tried leaving it unconnected. It would work as dust collection, but I wondered how susceptible it would be to bumps and vibration.
I’ve also been looking at switchable magnets, like Magswitch. These are strong, but there is still the issue of switching them without walking around the saw. A regular magnet would work as a detent, releasing with just a tug on the arm. I probably have something laying around to experiment with. Thanks for the ideas! ? -- John Hinman Boise ID K700S and A941 |

K975 support table. Is it square to the blade?
I have the short 500mm x 150mm support table that is fixed directly to the P channel via a clamping mechanism. My question is, could I trust this table to be square to the blade at all times if I were to mount the rear section of a fritz and franz jig to it? I currently use a shop made, oak t track bar to mount the jig to the slider T slot but due to the non-uniform dimensions of the t slot throughout its length, I'm getting sick of the play and slop. I was hoping to utilise the support table to 'fix' the jig to using a t bolt and 90 degree aluminum extrusion bracket. I figured that as the P channel is a true reference point then anything mounted to it could be trusted as being true to the blade? Is this correct?
Thanks? James? |

Hi everyone - new to the FOG,
Was wondering if anyone had instructions for commissioning a Felder AD941 16" jointer/planer? Or, instructions on how to adjust the jointer and planer tables, if needed. There was no such information included from Felder - no surprise, and I've been told it will take a month in my part of the country to have a tech come out and commission the unit. Any information would be appreciated. Regards, Darrell Miller |
Re: Overarm Guard Modification
开云体育John, you can see my remote-release setup here: ?https://flic.kr/s/aHskt9MBRvOne my machine, the system that locks the overhead swivel-arm in place is a spring loaded detent actuator. ?From your photos, it appears that the Kipp lever in the photo actually threads into a tapped hole in the swivel arm? ?Or is that Kipp lever just pressing against the swivel-arm and it’s somehow locked/stopped on the opposite side? ?Please post a few additional photos that more-fully illustrate how this arm is unlocked to swivel forward. ?Also, what is the diameter of the Kipp lever threaded shaft - I’m guessing it’s just under 10mm?
