Do not do this. This is a MOTOR STARTER.? It is not a phase converter, not a "power conditioner" or something. Similarly, a VFD is a MOTOR DRIVER, not a phase converter, etc.

I don't know what you think the issue is with a VFD on a PP.? I have run VFDs on my ~20 year old PP. The idea to put a VFD in front of a machine is generally not a good one.? A VFD (Variable

Hi Imran, ?Good advice, I will contact PP. ?It is an old unit 10+ yrs?, so Caps may be decayed, and probably a god idea to change out anyway. ?Best, Mike

Mark, thanks. ?That sounds promising. ?If one installs that in front of all the electronics in the KS700, will they operate? Or does one have to install that after the on switch for the motor?

Hi Mark, Thanks for sharing. That is a nice device and not too expensive. Also, it should work with all models of PP, whereas, per my understanding same is not true for VFD. It is almost worth adding

I assume PP displays "LOW INPUT VOLT" fault on its display?? It's nearly certain that?your generator voltage drops as it cannot handle the starting current.? You will be able to see this with a

I believe I looked into an application a while ago and inserting a vfd in front of the motor for programmed current limiting start was more cost effective if one didn't already have a Y/D starter box.

Yes, you'd need to do a lot of doors to justify that outlay IMO, especially when less expensive options can give such good results.? Here are a couple of blurry pics from a custom profile job.?
