Re: Door tooling and jigs
Thank you Lance The pc 59381 is in fact what I had and it sounds like the 126 may have been what I had. Thank you for the help and the lnk to Templaco. I do not remember having to flip the PC hinge template. I remember it was pinned to the door and the jamb at the same time and you routed both together. I will keep my eyes open for the 126, it was a great bevel planer Glen Alpine Moulding and Millwork Inc. Mail: ?? P.O. Box 486 ?????????? ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI put one in my? a3 31?? It was really quite straight forward.?
Nothing complicated at all . I did take pictures just in case?

Mike, did you complete the upgrade? If so any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I do have a copy of the "Hammer C3-31 planer head removal notes" and started to review and make some notes. I could be wrong but it seems that the C3-31 and A3-31 are very much different. Because of this I stopped for now and will wait for the head to arrive. I don't want to take my A3-31 out of service waiting for the Byrd head to arrive. |
Re: Vail AZ Shop Tour
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýVery nicely equipped shop. Envious that you have room for 3 benches. Good to hear what works well. Very cooperative Mrs. to let go of all 3 garage spaces. David Kumm creates balance with diamonds, what¡¯s your trick ? Imran On Jun 3, 2021, at 2:47 PM, Bill B¨¦langer <Bllblngr@...> wrote:

Re: Rotary Airlock
I have the same Clearvue connected to my Dual 51. ?It handles the chip load fine without an airlock. ?I would check your cyclone, barrel, and filter assembly for leaks. ?For instance, if you have a leak in your barrel/lid this would inhibit the chips from falling out of the cyclone as they should. ?

As others have done, I've searched the internet and have not found anything specific for the A3-31. I recently ordered (05/28/21) the head, bearings, extra screws and extra cutters from?expect to receive it by the end of this month (June). The delay is normal because Byrd does not stock any cutterheads and the heads are made to order in small batches or individually. |
Re: A3 31 planer rollers
#jointerplaner
According to a service technician, if you leave the rollers engaged for several weeks/months the pressure of the belt can deform one of the fly wheels (not sure exactly what it¡¯s called), and in result you will develop a flat spot and it will make a thump sound when you run the machine. I¡¯m guessing this is the same as when a band saw is left tensioned for an ¡°extended¡± amount of time.

Re: Shop Tour down under
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Albert:Very cool! Thanks for sharing. You¡¯ve got a beautiful shop there. Nicely laid out with moving around room. I always secretly chuckle to myself that David B. calls his Northfield sander a ¡°wide belt sander¡± ¡ nice to see a real wide-belt. (And now David is secretly saying ¡°f#3k you very much Lucky!¡± LOL) Your shop looks nice and clean too. If only my shop looked that good! Lucky
