Re: Glue for resinous wood
My question is, is one is better than the other for removing oils and presumably leaving no water behind. I am willing to use acetone for a critical project, once in a while with appropriate measures.

Re: Zero Clearance for K975
Hi Imran, That was a pretty good idea, didn¡¯t even think about trying that. I initially was going to remake in wood but since I get free machining (well cost of Bourbon free) I went that route. The

Acetone is rather toxic. Read the MDS on it. [email protected]> wrote:

Re: Glue for resinous wood
On a related note, what is the usage diff between acetone and denatured alcohol? I used acetone, to wipe the boards prior to applying the finish, per the directions. I know both mix with oil and water

Re: Glue for resinous wood
Yep! I¡¯m with Phil! Meths is a good cleaning solvent too and a polyurethane glue is your best bet! Believe me it will glue up perfectly! Things to remember are: It¡¯ll have an hydraulic action so

Re: Glue for resinous wood
Glen, Make sure you surface the wood as close to glue up as possible. Wipe with denatured alcohol and use gorilla glue or the like. Marlowe McGraw

Glue for resinous wood
I'm working with some Keruing that weeps resin as I look at it. Can anyone recommend an adhesive that would work with such timber? Thanks Phil

Re: Zero Clearance for K975
This may be common to other Felder saws but for clarity, the middle insert is removed to install dado. So I will need to make wood fillers for the front and rear inserts to use with dado. Imran

Zero Clearance for K975
Well I got fed up with off cuts flying violently and decided to make one. I started with filling the cavities of Felder inserts. In large cavities I epoxied wood pieces and other just got filled with

Re: Shaper or Molder for Casing and Trimwork
Brett and I agree as usual. If you have a significant quantity, find a local millwork shop. A $100k Weinig moulder is going to do a better job, and they buy wood way cheaper than you do. Save your

Re: Festool Domino problem
I had a similar situation. They actually sent me a new one, which cuts squarely. I hate it though, because my old one had the spring loaded pins (violates Mafelle patent) but I learned how to use the

Re: Shaper or Molder for Casing and Trimwork
I consider my woodmaster a good one room at a time remodel machine but totally agree that trim is no way to make money. It does give you some control over picking stock, varying thickness and width (

Re: Shaper or Molder for Casing and Trimwork
KRP - 1. The detail of the profile cut is a consideration. A simple edge profile on the baseboard won't be a lot of trouble on the shaper and might be a waste of spending money on a moulder if you are

Re: Shaper or Molder for Casing and Trimwork
I only have a KF700, but if I was expecting to run a bunch of moulding I think I'd prefer to pick up the Shop Fox W1812, and keep the shaper available for joinery work. The moulding machine seems

Chris, I am familiar with the Shop Fox 1812. I have the Williams and Hussey of the same style of milder. I cannot find anything on an F3. What is an F3? Thanks, George Gerstner
