Re: F700Z Slider Transport Locks / Lugs
I should mention that if you do try to use my method, make sure the slider locking lever is not engaged! On Thu, 7 Nov 2024 at 09:14, Mi?elis Vindavs via <mikelis.vindavs=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: F700Z Slider Transport Locks / Lugs
I had a similar issue. Trying to remove them using tools it felt like I'm going to slip and damage something. What worked for me was giving the sliding table a sharp push which made the lug on one side pop out. Hope this helps, and congrats on the new machine! Mi?elis Vindavs? Re: In Need of New Tires for F38
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Ron,If you tried to scuff by hand you may not have removed enough material. You literally have to remove the outer layer of material. When I did it before having them recovered, I glued the multiple sandpapers slightly wider than the wheels on a board. The sandpaper strip was long enough to cover length of 4 wheels, well in my case. I clamped the board to the table/slider and lowered the running PF onto the sandpaper. You should see some rubber coming off. With new surface the grip will improve but best long term solution is to get them recovered with polyurethane. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe only help I can offer is to confirm that they are for transportation. Imran Malik On Nov 6, 2024, at 8:46?PM, John Deming via groups.io <jldjr26@...> wrote:

OT: What is the name of this type of clip?
This is thoroughly off topic,? but I figured of you probably knows the answer.? ?I have a set of tin snips that needs sharpening.? The jaws are held in place by two pivot pins that are held in place by round spring steel clips.? What is the name of this type of clip?? ?Also is there a tool for removing them?? (At the point I plan on pounding out the pivot pins with a drift pin or a punch.? When I've removed similar clips from motor shafts I've used a flat head screw driver.? ?I'm concerned I may damage the clips removing them and I want to be able to get replacements,? but not knowing what they are called complicates that.? Re: In Need of New Tires for F38
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYou can have the existing hubs recovered with polyurethane which will give you superior traction to the OEM rubber tires on your F38. ? I use Griffith Polymers who acquired Axiom in 2021 for feed rollers on my F38 and for the feed rollers on my Dual 51 J/P, ?You send them your existing hubs/tires, they recover them and send them back. ?Call them at 503-620-2439. ? I have also used Fletcher Machine Industries in the past, but it¡¯s been a while since I used them. ?They are at 800-438-1054? You can buy new hubs/tires from Western Roller but they do not recover existing hubs. ?The dimensions on the replacement hubs/tires they supply are slightly narrower, and they are offset from the edge of the feeder housing making it more difficult to get the tires right up against the fence plates. ?Western Roller info is here: ?https://westernroller.com/ David Best DBestWorkshop@... https://www.flickr.com/photos/davidpbest/collections/ https://www.youtube.com/@David_Best

Startled to find my minimally used Felder feeder failed to grip wood today as I attempted run through the shaper.? What is the current company supplier recommendation for replacement rubber for the Felder F38 feeder?? Replace just tires or hub also??

Re: PK - Glad that you were not hurt
I saw a lot of comments on the value of the Aigner thickness stop - outboard fence. ?I am fortunate to have one (discontinued almost impossible to find), but actually, I do not benefit from the read out feature. ?I always have it setup so that with the pressure jaws, I place the wood on the Aigner fence plus 19 mm spacers on each side (one infeed, one outfeed), place the outboard fence up to it and tighten and that is it. ?With a piece of plywood with 2 slots and 2 bolts to screw ?to the top, that would work! ?Actually an advantage of that with a piece of wood not too thick is it would be easier to swing the feeder into place as lower profile.
?
Certainly more than one way to do a setup but that works for me. ?
?
Happy to give you a demo if you want to come over again some time!
?
I will pay more attention to how I setup that outfeed accessory in the future! ?Thanks!
