Re: 24” Panel Crafter Model 609
Thanks Cliff for mentioning the video. Lab coat, funny. But more importantly, they mentioned the part, brake, which should slide over this - see arrow:

It is missing. So for clarity, I have checked the panel centering function, pneumatic clamps and the valve that controls floatation. Floatation can be turned off and progressively increased. That is the extent of my checking. So anyone interested please make sure of everything. It is being offered as is. 开云体育Haha on the butt bar comment. Aussies rarely say “butt” as we prefer “bum”. But I figured “bum bar” wouldn’t wash. If I had any more English blood in me I’d have tried “arse bar” with the editor to see if that would slip through!I regret those loose fitting jeans shorts now. Shoulda donned the pink tights! Lucky

开云体育Hi PK:Thank you very much. I’ve enjoyed working on the two articles (calibrating and using) and tried to distill all the “goodies” for newbies that we talk about all the time here on the FOG but the wider users of sliders don’t know. David Best was instrumental in his help in condensing the material, making the prose understandable, photo selection, etc. Thanks David! And it made sense to single out Brian’s and Mac’s products specifically (Brian’s parallel fence is even heroed in the main photo). We have no local makers making what they make so it was easy to push Aussies in their direction! But damn the duty and taxes! LOL Warm regards, Lucky

开云体育First time I’ve seen the “butt bar” workflow accurately covered in a magazine - with photo. ?Seriously, this is a terrifically concise and practical article. ?David Best - via mobile phone? On Feb 17, 2022, at 9:14 PM, Bill Belanger <Bill@...> wrote:

Re: T-nut for the sliding table
开云体育All X-Roll sliding tables on?the -500, -700, -900, and Kappa 400 machines?are made from the same aluminum extrusion (just different lengths), and thus the T-slots are identical. ?The Hammer and -550/590 series sliding tables differ from the aforementioned models.?David Best - Sent from my iPad On Feb 17, 2022, at 8:14 PM, Wade Dees <wjdsignature@...> wrote:

开云体育Are the T-slot grooves the same in a K700S? ?I’d measure mine off the dimensions you sent, but I’m currently out of town. Headed back tomorrow though. ?I’d be interested! Thx, Wade On Feb 17, 2022, at 12:52 PM, James Zhu <james.zhu2@...> wrote:

24” Panel Crafter Model 609
开云体育I finally came across a panel crafter model 609It floats on air. No templates are included. It is missing 4 knobs with 1/4-20 threads. The two threaded holes in the base are for attaching a coping fence (not included). The knob in the middle centers the panel via a rack & pinion mechanism. It is built like a tank. It is used and condition is at least very good. A bit of wood is missing from one handle. Please see pics and video. $750 plus shipping from 46979. Imran |
Re: Efficient Method to Wrap Plywood with Solid Wood
I first saw Michael Fortune use?Scott Grove's Ultimate Router base to rout the profile on the solid wood edging of his high end table top, then saw Matthew Cremona use it to make the round solid wood edging in the following youtube video. I bought Scott Grove's book: Hardwood Edging and Inlay for Curved Tables, because I plan to do it in the future. Using the Ultimate Router base flush trim the solid edging is just one of the things you can do with it, it is long with some weight, very stable, no tipping. I usually wind up cleaning up spots with a plane after the router. I use a jack plane instead of a block plane though, as it seems more steady for me. I will sometimes run a strip of blue paint an inch off the trim and let the tail of the plane ride on that. It angles the plane off the tabletop surface, resulting in an imperceptible bevel on the trim, but helping keep the plane iron off the surface. Swinging the tail of the plane out over the tape changes the blade angle too, which is sometimes a good thing. I really don’t like the trim proud of the surface! -- John Hinman Boise ID Not a Felder Owner yet - expecting K700S in February and A941 in April 2022 |
Re: Efficient Method to Wrap Plywood with Solid Wood
开云体育Thanks James. This is just one project for my friend so will be a learning experience. On shaper, with PF I think I will get really close and if not the router option you and Jason mentioned is there. Imran On Feb 17, 2022, at 5:48 PM, James Zhu <james.zhu2@...> wrote:
? Imran, If you can rout the slot very precisely, sanding it to flush is doable. If you find you end up more than 1 mm over the table top, it would be a lot of sanding and tricky to get a perfect result. If you think you will do more table with skirt boards, router planing or lipping planer is the way to go. James On Thu, Feb 17, 2022 at 5:40 PM imranindiana <imranindiana@...> wrote:

开云体育I never bothered to reinforce the miters, I still have the Walnut pedestal table and the miters are as tight as the day i made it. But they are 3/4” x 3/4” .Regards, Mark On Feb 17, 2022, at 5:40 PM, imranindiana <imranindiana@...> wrote:
