Any other things to consider or accessories to go along with it??

This will be a bit of a dumb question but I am assuming that it comes with a stand if you get the normal set up and the smart stand everyone here talks about is the upgrade??

I don’t think I could muster the extra cost on the smart stand since Im very much over budget on my new building.

It’s going on my kf700sp which I’ll finally be able to commission after all the delays in building my new shop. I have the bracket with gas strut. Thanks to imran (yes it’s still in the box from when you sent it)

Re: Comatic DC-40 questions

Shop gear was great to work with. Fast shipping. No reason not to get the standard 110v unless you have a 220 outlet that’s more convenient. Don’t have the smart stand but I wish the had the longer horizontal tube. Get four of the split wheels. Very useful to use over the blade or left or right of it.
it’s really a great feeder.

Imran, thanks for sharing this, and Steve, thanks for your additional input.? I have a Hammer C3 at my home shop but haven't had any issues (2 years ownership). But I'll check it out next time I'm in that shop.? If I see anything weird, I'll share back with this group.

Also, Imran, I joined your Facebook group. I live in Houston, so not really a midwesterner, but I am really glad you started that group and are allowing us "outsiders" to join!

Mike Bemis shared here how he installed his inside his RL160. That may be a better approach if you don’t want the cylinder outside.

Once I have some time I would like to add control of the pneumatic cylinder to the timer as well. The timer I used won’t do it but I am sure there is one out there.

BTW, after I posted the pic, I realized that I see a pattern of filter plugging on each end (front and rear)of the filter. Thought I check if the wiper needs adjustment. However, before adjusting, I just gave it a few strokes and checked after dust settled. It all fell out (plugging on sides) except the middle. From past experience, that won’t fall until cleaned manually.

Steve,

Thanks again. Interesting, I see the slots and tracks around the bolts. Do does the assembly rotate to go up and down?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for sharing these details. Since I don’t have K3 and yes video is not that great but I could almost make out that it was the horizontal bar to which riving knife is mounted. Here is the one on KF700

This bar moves up/down with blade and has no mechanical interface with the blade up/down movement. Trying to figure out how K3 is different. If possible please share a pic.

The fix is to tighten one of the Allen-head bolts that holds that bar, but you can't tighten it completely or else raising and lowering the blade becomes difficult.? I haven't bothered to try to put thread lock on that thing to see if that will prevent the issue from coming back.? The last time this happened I also removed that "guard" that (partly?) blocks access to that bolt.? That guard serves no purpose that I can see.

First time replacing a full bag after timer install. My filters have never been this clean. Essentially, the whole filter is usually like the circled part.

So moral of the story, use your wiper more often. Install a timer if you need a reminder.

??At AWFS I spoke with Jesse regarding filter clogging on my RL125 and he recommended that filter cleaning more often is very helpful. Upon returning, I practiced that and found that it does help.

So I was excited to add a pneumatic cylinder and a PLC to control it but I realized that I have to turn the collector off before cleaning can take place. Even though my collector starts and stop automatically with the machines and I could have proceeded with the original plan to automatically do the filter cleaning, I thought that I could just walk a few steps and do the cleaning manually. So for now I have decided to just add a timer.

It is a rather simple setup comprising following:
Inkbird Digital Cycle Timer IDT-E2RH
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008KV65MS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

A current sensor Dwyer MCS-111050. I had this on hand. If it is cumbersome to disconnect the wire there are split core models that open and clamp around the wire.

A buzzer. This buzzer is not loud enough with my saw and DC running. Since it was a 2 pack I may install the 2nd one centrally or order a piezo one that claims to be louder.
Panel Mount ACDC 110V Red LED... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078MZ4YC7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Following pic shows all parts. It also shows the VFD I use to power the RL125. However, this setup will work with the current sensor installed on one of the power lines of any single phase or 3 phase dust collector.

Attached is a video of the timer in action. The timer is set for 15 sec but it can be any time (min or even hrs). The dust collector was stopped last time mid cycle with 6 sec elapsed. The timer stops running when DC us off because current sensor relay is open. When I start the dust collector, the red light on the current sensor indicates relay closure upon detection of current flow - the current level to close relay is adjustable. The timer starts running. When 15 sec elapse the buzzer sounds for 3 sec (again this can be any duration). If you stop the dust collector while in buzzer cycle the timer will stop and the buzzer will continue. This can be remedied by installing a reset switch but I plan to use it without one (for now) and set the timer appropriately long and stop the machine after the buzzer is over. This cycle repeats. At the end of the day the timer can be left powered. I likely will turn it off and as I do a cleaning cycle before I start the dust collector everyday.

I could not easily locate an enclosure of the size I wanted. So this makeshift will do for now. Here the timer is set for 15 minutes.

I am not a FB fan mostly because of the spread of misinformation - however like Jason I can connect with friends from 35yrs ago, if everyone was on IG I would dump it. IG is great, it’s so cool to connect with other folks all over the world, for me to think that I am so important that if I dumped both FB and IG it would make a difference would be ridiculous.

Imran I’m in just t so i have one more place to complain ?
