Re: FAT300 vs Others
@Stan Blaszczyk
Thanks for all the information on your custom work bench. I looked online for more information about those aluminum extrusions and I wonder how did you fasten/connect your pieces. I do not see any type of anchor system used in the pictures. I am new to those 80/20 or equivalent systems and creating a frame the way you did without external fasteners doest not seem so trivial. Thanks, Bill |

kappa 40 scoring blade not rising or retracting automatically anymore
Hi all.
New member here with a question. I have a kappa 40 sliding table saw and the scoring blade stopped coming up and going down as power was applied or stopped. The manual switch on the control panel won't move it either. I can move it with the T bar tool through the hole in the table. Is this something I can trouble shoot, or do I need to involve a Felder tech? I have heard that the electronics on these things can be a little sketchy? Thanks, David |

I pulled the trigger on a K700S I was really hoping to get one used but couldn't find anything that would work out. Dennis how about posting some pics of those machines of yours?

Re: Power carvers
开云体育I posted James Hamilton’s injury video only as a reminder that some tools can have more risk of injury than others. ?I grew up in a logging family in Northern California. ?I was introduced to chain saws at an early age. ?I was fortunate to learn from people skilled in their “safe” use. ?I got to see the aftermath of chainsaw injuries, both minor and serious. ?I was fortunate that when I got the tip of the saw too close to my foot that only my boot was damaged, and when I got the bar too close to my knee, I was fortunate the teeth didn’t grab enough fabric to pull it into my flesh. ?These close calls were great learning opportunities.My point is, place almost any power tool in the hands of someone that is either inexperienced with the tool, becomes complacent, or simply is not strong enough to manage the tool properly, and the chance for injury increases dramatically. Don’t shy away from attempting a new tool, even a power carving tool. ?Just take time to learn how to properly use the tool. ?There is risk in everything we do. ?Look how many table saw kickback videos are available, some showing injuries. ?I don’t see us throwing out our table saws. ?Just take your time, go slow, and learn to use the tool safely. ?If you find a particular tool, such as a chainsaw or saw chain tipped power carver is not for you, try something else. Great! They wonders of our technical world!
You can find them here: (select "Bücher" and "Werkzeuge und maschinen") and you will see a few green books "Station?rmachinen - ...", this one for the planer is called "Station?rmachinen - Tischfr?se" (ISBN 9783748601951).
I currently have the book on the shaper, the band saw and the router. They are all excellent and of the same quality and richness of information. The books are very good, although German, they are enriched with
a lot of photos illustrating the written text. They also all come
with one or more DVDs with instruction videos (the Shaper has two,
109mins and 72 mins) matching the contents of the book. I think the book on the sliding table saw (Formatkreiss?ge) might be a nice read for all US style woodworkers trained on cabinet saws as there are some fundamental differences in operations and work methods.
One of the very nice features of the books are the tips and tricks and practical jigs.
They all more or less have the same structure: - Safety (do's and don'ts) - Construction and outline of the machine under subject - Setup and operation - Tooling - Explanation and tips and tricks for operations on the machine - Special features To get an impression on his instruction videos, have a look at
this one:
