I use the quick screws in #8x2" square drive for case construction. They don't need any predrill in a lot of materials.

Here's the other Austrian version of a handle. Never considered the finger smashing, as this one takes care of that problem as well.

Fortunately I wasn't moving too fast or I think I would have sheared off the tip of my finger. I have a new handle to make one of these days to make it safer. The original steel plate had so many sharp edges that kept hitting me in the chest (at my height from the chair) that I took it off, maybe not such a good idea in the long run.

Good point Brian. I have mashed mine on the outside edge of slider as they encountered the beginning of the base extrusion. So tray is a bonus due to a safety feature J

A handle with a hole in it makes it really easy to stick your fingers too low and get caught as you are sliding the table forward. I have a handle and got my finger mashed a good one in there… so having a bottom to it to keep errant fingers out of harms way is a good idea.

Hi John, ?

I can’t answer your question, however, I have a Powermatic 1632 open ended wide belt sander in my garage that I have been meaning to sell. It is a 7.5 hp, 3 phase unit. I bought it when it was about a year old and NEVER used it. ?It has been sitting on a pallet for 5 years. I am located in Buffalo NY and am negotiable. I also have a VFD brand new in the box for it that I can sell separately if necessary.?
