FB510 Vibration

Before I start isolating the motor, wheels, etc. I thought I should ask if the vibration in the FB510 is normal. I've owned 4 Grizzly bandsaws in different sizes and none of them shook like this new FB510 does. I thought I was upgrading from Griz, but the cuts off this saw are nothing to be exited about. If y'all tell me it's normal, I'll live with it, or try to find a buyer. I'm already living with a foot brake while the Grizzly had an automatic brake.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Euro Guard on K700 #sawsetup

Thank you for the added info. I missed the point about commonality of parts and was not informed where the interested parties are located.
Perhaps I'll have an opportunity to visit Grizzly in Bellingham in the near future and would hope to see their model on display.

Re: Radial Drill Press purchase

Hey Joel
My drill press is a delight to use.??
Check it out:?

What amazes me is forstner bits and drill bits that I considered less than ideal when drilling with my previous drill press now create very clean holes with very little effort.

The larger than usual table is about 16" (>400mm) square.

Cheers

Re: #Knee Mills #knee

So far I have been pleasantly surprised at the dimensional ability of mine. I specified a 3/4¡± hole and printed the part and a 3/4¡± shoulder bolt was a snug fit. Small holes I don¡¯t get so lucky on, but they can be chased with a reamer or drill bit. I tend to print with extra layers around the shell, or even print solid and have had decent luck with threading holes and such.?

They are a tool like anything else, useful to an extent and great within their limitations.

Re: Euro Guard on K700 #sawsetup

Bob,

I'm more than certain they can ship to SEA so for Pacific Northwest members, that might be a better option than going through a group buy focused around SFO. Myself and one other member are SF Bay with another in SoCal, so it would make sense for us logistically somewhat to get it here first. There are others in the midwest and such that will need the forwarding.?

To answer your question about asking OAV for US references -- no, I haven't done that but I have called around and saw that Laguna and Grizzly's sliders feature this very exact guard (even down to the part numbers, etc.) so it's already in use. I supposed you could call either Laguna or Grizzly to ask about performance. I don't plan to though :).?

Re: Euro Guard on K700 #sawsetup

Hi Sang Lu,

Yes, I am interested.? Perhaps the crate can be forwarded to a depot in Seattle where we all could meet and open the crate in the parking lot to save further cost of a second delivery.? Not sure how it works, but I'd expect delivery at SFO to a freight agent would get it through customs and onto a LTL shipment to Seattle.? Just a guess on cost could be $400-500.? I wonder if they can ship it direct to SEA?

However I point out we have not seen one of the guards, and as we push the cost up towards $1K, our options for other makes increase.? Have you asked if they have sold one or more units in the US that we could contact and ask about their experience with it?? I went through an similar exercise buying from China several years ago, an induction forge on Alibaba.? Despite my concerns, it all went very well and I no problems with the machine or its delivery.

Thank you for doing all the footwork, and please keep working on it,

Bob
