Re: Calling all bandsaw power feeder owners
Murray, I find that it is good to have quite a bit of pressure pressing the board against the fence. Because even if you flatten the stock, there will always be the need to keep it as flat on the

Re: Calling all bandsaw power feeder owners
Joe, How do you like the comatic? One thing I see is that the rollers are not very high and so wondering how well they work on boards 10" plus in height? I do a fair amount of resawing 1/8" thick

Re: Calling all bandsaw power feeder owners
I have a Comatic AF110 bandsaw power feeder. It uses an air cylinder instead of a spring. There is a lever arm, so I¡¯m not sure of the power multiple. The feeder said to set the air pressure at

Loving the ingenuity here. My first thoughts 1. Friction - need more on the drive wheels. They look brand new out of the molds. Soak off the mold release with acetone rags and/or mineral spirits

Re: Calling all bandsaw power feeder owners
Murray, That looks like polyurethane tread on those wheels.? Given they are designed for a pallet jack, they are probably pretty hard.? A softer durometer or web center tire would allow some spring

I have the small comatic on a minimax s500. My luggage scale ;) shows 5 - 7 kg depending on swing. Running a 1¡± carbide resaw, the wheels do slip on bigger hardwood rips. I¡¯m using a laguna

Murray, You have initiated an interesting project. Other colleagues on this forum are much more knowledgeable than me and will surely chime in with valuable ideas and recommendations. My first thought

Re: SCM FS 41ES/52ES
Does anyone have a picture of Helicoidal infeed roller. I am trying to imagine it from the definition of a helicoid surface. An auger is the closest analogy that I can come up with for a helicoid

Just to add from my limited experience machining plastics with steel rollers straight , spiral and sectional all worked fine for HUMW , Delrin I have no experience with rubber rollers. Mac,,

Calling all bandsaw power feeder owners
Hi all, I'm currently in the process of making, or more correctly attempting to make, a bandsaw power feeder. It is a bit of an experiment and I'm quite prepared for it not to work, it's mainly been

Re: SCM FS 41ES/52ES
There is another advantage to the helicoidal steel roller, you can do the quick change with it if you ever wanted to get a rubber one for a particular reason, like running plastics, for instance.?

Re: SCM FS 41ES/52ES
Rubber feed rollers are a wear item that require replacement over time depending upon use conditions. The photo below illustrates the rubber feed rollers out of my Dual 51 after several years of use.

Re: SCM FS 41ES/52ES
The problem with rubber rollers is board gets stuck in the roller and it chows it out now you gotta replace it , use spiral roller steel, and won¡¯t have that problem. I suspect that was section and

Re: SCM FS 41ES/52ES
I am going back to the feed roller. I initially thought the feed roller that comes with the FS7 by default is the rubber roller. In fact, the machine comes by default with helicoidal steel roller.

Re: Felder FAT 300S vs 500S
I dislike WD box store crap Try to avoid compressed cans always have to puncture and drain when propellent is gone. Let alone breathing the VOC I buy lps. 1,2, 3 by gallon And use labeled squirt

Re: Felder FAT 300S vs 500S
P.S. WD40 is also somewhat solvent borne, it will work great immediately, as soon as it dries up a bit you will have a sticky mess with lots of residue. Brian Lambblamb11@...

Re: Felder FAT 300S vs 500S
Dry lubes are generally a solvent that carries a high pressure additive. You coat the items, the solvent evaporates and leaves behind a high pressure "coating" and then that does the rubbing against

Re: Felder FAT 300S vs 500S
Both Slick 50 and WD40 are penetrating oil lubricants.? The LPS 1 is considered a "dry lubricant" / water displacement element.? I think the LPS 1 would be good to treat surfaces that are exposed,
