Re: Shaper Cutter Set Suggestions #shapertools #shop-pics
Ron, Those are haunched because I wanted a traditional mortise and tenon. I was using the HC mortiser for these and the exposed mortise out on the edge would not be clean. The other option for this

I am using the Pica pencil. You can get the graphite in multiple colors (including white). It is really good for rough dimensions and general marking. It isn¡¯t not good for fine furniture making.

Very, very nice Joe.? I'm leaning toward something like this for my daughter's kitchen style.? So, the panel is rebated only toward the back so it doesn't a show break from the front, I assume.?

Imran, A lumber crayon works very well on both rough and planed (surfaced) wood. As Joe indicated, sanding is required down the road. Since I do not have a belt sander, I use either a Pica red lead

I have the Starrett version of this - bought it a few years ago on EBay for ~$300 IIRC. It is a little fiddly to set up, but once that¡¯s done it is incredibly accurate. I use it regularly to dial in

Thanks Joe. I have not researched this. I just place painters tape and write on it but figured pros probably have a better solution. Imran

Re: Shaper Cutter Set Suggestions #shapertools #shop-pics
Imran It¡¯s just a lumber crayon. I only use it if parts get wide belted. It will cause problems if used further along in the machining process.
