Jointing a board only affects one face.? Getting a tapered board upon repeated jointing is a not-uncommon occurrence.? But if you think about it, it makes sense.? The jointer's job isn't to achieve

If fully moved up, there is about 30cm clearance below the hood. In principle, one could increase this by another 10-20cm by shortening the aluminium bars, without loosing sturdiness.
