Re: AD941: Getting outfeed table coplanar to cutterhead

开云体育

I would sugest never adjusting the hinge side at cutterhead at out-feed.
With straight knife or tersa cutter body should be about 8/10 mm under lip edge.
Side to side few tenths?
I don’t know about spiral?
Both levers should snug up against temple bolts. And NOT change height of table.?
Ounce you accomplish this tha out feed table is your reference than losen the infeed hinge a little and adjust hinge side parallel to outfeed .
Operator side temple bolts should not change the lip buy zip!
Everything you do to one corner changes the other corner on a biased?

Currently I have been able to:
1) Lower the table “excessively” (so that it can be raised to the correct height at the end?
2) Get the table parallel with the cutterhead by adjusting and tightening the right temple bolt, and then bringing the left one up so it just barely touches the table when the latch is gently locked.?

However, when I adjust the table upwards with the knob, the front and rear edges move upward at different rates, so then I’m out of parallel and have to start over.

Can anyone suggest what I should be doing differently? ?It’s a brand new machine and I’m really hoping to get up and running without needing to wait for tech support.

Hi Glenn, not at the present time but I am going to make a batch at some point in the beginning of the new year. I will make an update on here when that happens.

Re: Eccentric clamp alternatives?

I have nothing good to say about the Felder clamp, except that I no longer have it.

I use Milescraft and Kreg clamps. The Milescraft with the base kit fits a KF700 without modification. I use it as a hold-down behind the fence. It's action pulls stock towards the fence. The only? downside is that the clamp won't reach stock <3.5" wide.??I use the Kreg for thin stock and as a second hold-down on larger pieces.

I've been using t-nuts in wood to hold down accessories in the table slot (no metalworking skills); but, I remember hearing there's a McMaster-Carr piece that fits perfectly. Does someone know the part number (or what it would be called to find it)? Ideally, I'd make the t-slot described above for all my attachments - I'd love the quick change option.?

I'm intrigued by the Bridge City and Harvey clamps, because they push straight down. Thanks.

Re: You get what you pay for. Cheap digital fence readout.

?Jonathan,

Thanks for the picture. It looks like I'll need to grind off a couple threads off the hold-down bolt and it will fit. My solution won't be quite as elegant as yours - I tend to use what's lying around and cobble together quickly. For example, the piece of wood in the above picture is because I didn't have the right size nuts, so I went with wood screws.

Kind Regards,
Mike

Re: Clearvue shaker?

I haven't replaced with anything else bigger yet, though it does use a lot of air, it's easy to flip open a valve by the saw when I notice a performance drop cleaning up at end of the day. It comes down like snow.?

The dust build up is NOT from cyclone performance,? that's because I compromised my dust bin for a modified trash can on the range of 100gal, and it does not seal well like a proper clamp collared steel or plastic drum. It never did that when I used proper bins before. Another system we use has never accumulated dust in the filters requiring cleaning in over 2 years.? It also has a reliable bin level monitor and never gets overfilled.

Hi William,

Thanks for the link. The Bridge City version looks pretty nice...think I'll jump on YouTube and see if I can find any videos.

Re: Clearvue shaker?

Installed this before the official accessory existed....Amazon buy, pneumatic vibratory mechanism GT13. I consider it necessary equipment, esp. if you overload your cyclone ever or you don't have a perfectly sealing dust bin like my current one.? There are electric variants that also have merit. Also prior discussions if you search back a couple years in the messages.

Re: Eccentric clamp alternatives?

Hi Larry,

Bridge City Tools sells a less expensive version. I have not tried this but it is very similar to the design of the Harvey version and only $49.99.

William,

I really like how that Harvey Compass looks but, man, that is not cheap! I have worked long and hard my entire life and now in my late 60's, I have the disposable income to not bat an eye at a purchase like this but sure wish I could get my hands on one before spending that much. Still, I am tempted to order one and if it doesn't end up being all that I thought it might be, my adult woodworking son might end up being the beneficiary.

Correct, the bands have a North Pole arrangement in the banding that repeats every 5mm, so cutting it would make it almost impossible to get a continuous correct reading across two pieces.
