Re: Adding fence to bandsaw?
Check out the ¡°Band Saw Clinic with Alex Snodgrass¡± on youtube. I was skeptical at first but basically he is saying that you adjust the fence by rotating the table rather than skewing the fence.

Hello all, I am hoping the forum can?clarify a few points on bandsaws I was unable to locate. Let¡¯s please set aside dragging in other brands and the 540 model since Lucky is going to convince

Re: Felder Dado and Shaper cutter questions
Thanks all. I enjoyed the shop photos of dual saws. Hmm, that's kind of a bummer, I might not have bought the saw if I'd known it was not dado compatible. I falsely assumed that since the new machines

I have never found that to be the case, and I've been setting up bandsaws a long time. Jason Holtz J. Holtz Furniture www.jholtz.com 3307 Snelling Ave. South Minneapolis, MN 55406 612 432-2765

Re: Boring techniques and jigs for passage doors
We have the Porter Cable lock mortiser in our shop. It's a beast of a thing, and sort of awkward to use. It gets the job done right though. Jason Holtz J. Holtz Furniture www.jholtz.com 3307 Snelling

Well, that was certainly illuminating.

Re: Adding fence to bandsaw?
Drift does not exist if the saw is set up correctly and then the need for the fence to have adjustment for drift goes away.

Re: Felder Dado and Shaper cutter questions
I still like the idea of having something ready to use w/o any setup. If I had a cabinet saw prior to buying Felder, I would do it like Randy has in a heart beat considering you don¡¯t get much for

Re: Boring techniques and jigs for passage doors
For mortise lock installations, this would be another option. I think Porter Cable used to have something similar. Not inexpensive, but cheaper than damaging an expensive entry door.... I would think

Cripes¡ just use end mills or router bits in the high speed spindle. I¡¯ve done it that way for years. Brian Lamb blamb11@... www.lambtoolworks.com

Re: Felder Dado and Shaper cutter questions
Stephen, BTW, a domestic saw placed at the outfeed of KF or a saw only machine works really well as a dado saw and really does not take much extra space. Imran

Re: Felder Dado and Shaper cutter questions
Stephen, I have 2002 KF700 and it takes as Brain said 400-136 router spindle which IIRC is for 1990-2007 machines. I could not find a P/N on my router spindle. With S/N of machine Felder can confirm

First, a year 2000 machine won¡¯t do dado¡¯s, so 1 and 2 are no. 3. yes, 4. no, 5. haven¡¯t used them, but they should work. 6. maybe, it should be possible, but you¡¯ll have to customize a zero

Felder Dado and Shaper cutter questions
Hi all - I am negotiating the purchase of an older KF700 (year 2000). I realize that my typical joinery/grooving/rabbeting techniques with a US style dado blade set on a 5/8 arbor are going to need to

AJ, It makes a lot of sense for a business to go for commissioning for reasons you cited and also because a business should recoup the cost, otherwise it is a bad investment. I do not know business

Re: Tersa Replacement Blades
I believe worse thing now a days, that is common, is resins and glues. With wider machines, I think, the likelyhood of processing glued boards goes up even for a hobby WW. Imran
