I tried a bosch Cross line laser attached to the ceiling - hopeless; the line was too fat and with a slight angle to increase the length of the line it degenerates not into a line but a series of

That was a pricey amount for an old manual machine. I¡¯ve seen a lot of Bridgeports sell for less than that. Also, don¡¯t forget, those can be expensive to move, and easy to damage...
