Quality makes a big difference in the long haul with lighting.? There's a gazillion cheap fixtures and lamps, fluorescent and LED, and they degrade and fail at much higher rates than high-quality

Imran the problem with some of the LEDs is you throw away the whole fixture at what cost instead of changing a 2 or 3 dollar bulb. But like everything you are free to spend your money as you see fit.

We retrofitted the entire shop about 18 months ago, from T8 fluorescents to LED. The change over involved removing the ballasts in our 6 lamp fixtures. Our consumption has decreased about $90/month.
