Hi,? If you have a motor on scoring then this is a three phase machine.? Is there 3 phase power available in the shop or is it provided by a phase converter. Sounds like a short from possibly a loose connection or you are not getting power to all three legs and it is single-phasing.?
Check all your connections,plugs etc or any loose wires. Check the motor wiring also especially if the smell came from there. Use a multi-meter to check for voltage on all three legs.?
