Rich,

Aha! I should have included more information... since I provided a
direct
link to the item, you didn't get to see the following message
regarding
their sale prices:

---
Important Pricing Notice
All items in the Year End Clearance Sale are priced at 50% off
retail.
Discount will be deducted automatically when you add an item to
your cart.
---

In other words, while the meter shows up with a list of $254.95, as
soon as
you add it to your shopping cart, it will be listed (in the cart) as
$127.50. As I was shopping around, it's easy to forget the prices
don't
include the discount until they are added to the shopping cart. I
wonder if
they'll eventually go to 60% off. I would have thought the moisture
meter
would have sold out by now, but their site indicates it is in stock
and
available now.

The moisture meter is listed under the Measuring Tools category of
their
"Year-End Lathe Accessory Clearance Sale" ... also noticed they
still have a
good bunch of Japanese water stones available... and lots of
unhandled lathe
tools. The main page of the 50% off sale is at:

Hope that helps... the meter is turning out to be rather useful as
I can now
easily find the moisture content of the woods from a local mill and
make
sure everything in a particular project has stabilized to the same
m.c.

I just went to the ShopSmith's web site to look at the moisture
meter at
50% off. I
couldn't find anything on sale, the meter is listed for 254.95,
when I
checked the link
to there items on sale page it said there are no items on sale at
this
time. I am
interested in a moister meter and like any recommendation. Rich

If any of you are looking for a moisture meter but couldn't
justify te
expense, you can get a Wagner Inspector Pro-Line L606 for $127
over at
Shopsmith's web site. They have a bunch of stuff marked out on
clearance
for
50% off, and this item is among them. I bought it a few weeks
ago when
it
was 30% off and thought it was a good deal. This is a pinless
anolog
meter,
by the way, and is made in Oregon. It is calibrated for fir and
includes
a
chart to convert readings to most domestic and imported soft-
and
hardwoods.

Just thought our group might want to know.. Here's the link...
