BTW, I was able just pull the column down and rest it on the edge of the foam and add the base. I am a slight guy and was able to lift the head up and go vertical. Obviously, each has to make sure of their capabilities. I certainly would not try to install the head on the stood up column unless I have help

I also did not want to take the head off as I thought there may be some factory calibration as there are set screws, which could be just for locking. Does anyone know, in general, can the DP head be removed and installed without loosing calibration between the chuck and the table?
