Where do you source veneered panels with quality thicker than normal veneer?? I'm not nearly as talented as most here and have never found a reliable reasonably priced source for veneer that doesn't look like veneer when finished.? Easier for me to make my own veneer 3/32-3/16" depending on how far it is sanded down.? The grain and color match are my choice and the panel matches the frame better than what I've bought.? When doing solid I have a 5/8" profile panel cutter from Freeborn that can be sanded down to slightly less if needed.? I generally run 7/8-1" frames so that helps as well.

Not a big deal to make or buy a vacuum pump and bags aren't that expensive so the cost after set up is pretty minimal.

Hi John,

Thanks for confirming my thoughts on ply panels. What profile did you use on the interior facing raised panels?

I have had both solid panels and plywood panels, and there really is a difference. Stick with solid.?

The solid panels were actually raised panels with the raised side facing inward.?

Both sets were maple with clear finish.?
