As inexpensive as these DRO units are, it is easy to add them to many tools. I put one on my bandsaw, and I think it will work out well.
The display drops into a wooden box as a friction fit, and attaches to the saw with magnets. I can put the display anywhere that is convenient. The loose cord may be an issue over time, but I¡¯ll deal with that when the time comes. The read head is mounted under the fence, with a wooden shim and mounting tape. Really easy, and repairable if it does not work out.
The only drawback is the instructions. I don¡¯t know how they could have made them less clear.
