Home run is a dedicated circuit to a machine or load. This is what I did except 110V wall outlets and lighting. The panel gets filled quickly with CB.

I am no Electrican so my advise is only from many years of wiring for my self.
3 phase to run power is no different than single just one more wire.
But wire is directional different than one phase.switch any two and motor changes direction.
sq D has a slide rule I use for reference .?
Hp, amp rating , number of wires in conduit so on .
Of course internet has changed this but still like my slide rule been handy for 50 plus years.
There is no one way as I see it , if you have a small shop HR can work but you will fill the box with breakers pretty quick so standard outlets I usually piggyback.
Machines it¡¯s different story , long runs I use sub panels to group to save $

In my home lab I use continuous race ways and little conduit. Much cleaner set up . 4x4x3 Drake Elevator Products prices are very good , difficult co to work with they don¡¯t seem to like small co. But it¡¯s worth putting up with there bill.

?They do already have the drum sander. If I choose to go with a belt sander I can use the drum sander in another small woodworking shop I will be setting up for them later. I have only ever hired out sanding so I have no experience with a drum or belt sander.?
