Thanks to the several responders on this.

I still haven't found the apparent leak in the system that allows the backs to suck up to the filters, or any blockage, but after several episodes, it has settled down to normal.

I suspect a likely area of wear on the seal and perhaps a less than careful bin replacement, although I'm not aware of any change in how I do this.
