Are there any tips and/ or tricks for setting up the short crosscut fence for the first time. It seems incredibly fiddly to swing away, adjust bolt, test, swing away again, adjust bolt again blau blau blau.

It just seems to alter everytime it is locked back down again after an adjustment. How does everyone else get it dead square and keep it dead square??

In addition is there a trick for dialling in the length cutting on the fence I.e adjusting the crosshair on the fence scale??
