The procedure is no different for analog or DRO, you set the fence to zero either way. If you are talking about setting two analog fences to exactly equal distances, I¡¯ve detailed any number of ways of doing that as well¡ even put a video on youtube as to how.

The procedure you show is great for digital version. With analog version, what Lucky shows (or alternatives from David Best) should get one perfect calibration.
I am sure, eyeballing the tape on the analog parallel fence can get one close enough for non critical use. I have gotten used to sending the parts thru the planer (on edge for final width) for critical parts. That is the only machine with DRO in my shop and it allows me to reliably reproduce a part if I mess up. I did cut a wrong miter on my recent frame build and I was able to mill another piece to exact width that way.
