Thank you David,
Great info. ?I was wondering about dado blades for my new slider. ?These are nothing like the American cabinet saw dado blade sets, that¡¯s for sure.
They are pricy! ?But hey cry just once right.
Does the ¡°set¡± come with shims or do you buy those individually? ?I see myself making 1/4 to 3/4¡± dados, so I guess I¡¯ll need both of them. ?It¡¯s nice that Felder gives you a small break on the set cost though.
There is one thing I can really appreciate with these slider designs, and that is the blade changing access. ?So much better then my Powermatic was.
Thx,
Wade

This ¡°which saw blade¡± question comes up here semiannually. ?I think if you search the archive, you¡¯ll discover that lots of us are running Tenryu main saw blades. ?This is a very popular choice.?
I have 3 of them with one rotated out to Leitz for sharpening at any one time. ?Since they are all identical, I don¡¯t have to adjust scoring saw widths when I change main saw blades. ?
I prefer the two different widths of Felder dado cutters for most slotting on the saw. ?Expensive but great tooling. ?Those cutters are essentially shaper grooving cutters specially designed for the Felder saws.?

I also have a Forrest Data King bored to 30mm which I use occasionally for rough slotting mostly on the shaper but occasionally on the saw.

Hi John,I¡¯m interested in picking up a dado set. ?Which Felder type did you go with?Thx,WadeOn Feb 2, 2022, at 8:31 AM, John Huelsenbeck <johnh@...> wrote:
?Hi Jonathan,
I have been using several Felder saw blades on my K3 for a few weeks
now. I have the universal Classic (10", black colored blade), a
scoring blade to go with that blade, and the diamond tipped blade they
sell. I don't have any basis for comparison, but the classic 10"
(universal) when used with the scoring blade cuts plywood beautifully
with little to no tear out. The expensive diamond tipped one cuts
equally well (but without the scoring unit). Others can chip in if
there are cheaper but equally good alternatives out there. I imagine
there are. This place (https://ridgecarbidetool.com/), for example,
sells table saw blades with the appropriate bore and pin cut outs, but
they seem about as expensive as the Felder ones.
As an aside, I also bought the full dado set for my saw and have been
very happy with it.

Hello,
Did anyone try the Felder circular saw blades?
Are they worth the price or are we paying a lot for the "Felder" engraved on the blade?
I see they have 2 ranges of blades, the "Classic" (the black one) and the "Silver", the price difference is quiet big between both range (at least in my country). Any advise?
FYI, I am not a professional woodworker, I am just a hobbyist.
Thanks
Jonathan
