Re: DPST required for On button remote switch for Hammer K3?

Hi Joe,

You may want to check the switches on your machine. My K975 switches (on/off) are SPST but have 2 sets of terminal that made it easier to add the wireless switches to the end of my slider and they work great.

As Brian said they are in a 24VAC circuit. So my setup, literally, adds remotely controlled switches in parallel with the main and scoring on switches. Having two sets of terminals on OEM makes it really easy.

The remotely controlled off switch needs to be in series though.

I choose a key fob with 3 buttons. Key fobs are available with 2 and 4 buttons as well. There may be some other options but the only other that I found was Schneider Harmony. 3 of their switches won¡¯t fit in my slider and the cost was $500+. You can locate switches on the slider (assume they will fit in the hammer slider) or you can located them in an enclosure hanging from ceiling or located where ever it is convenient.

There is a plan for wired remote switches in the files section.

My solution required a 24V power supply, a wireless receiver from home security and a key fob. I used a 3D printed tray to secure the keyfob in slider cavity. I believe parts were around $100.

Here is the original post. If you like more details let me know.

This thread may be helpful. It has link to the wired plan and also a post on a more elegant using aforementioned Schneider Harmony parts.

?Hi all,

first post.? I'm a hobbyist and recently received my K3 winner.? like many of you, crawling over the slider to turn the saw off and on is far from ideal and would like to install a remote switch on the slider.? I've reviewed the various posts and files on the topic (nice work BTW), most of which are pointed at Felder models.? I contacted Felder support, and they were actually quite helpful in providing a wiring diagram (though I did have one in the doc package which came with the machine) and pointing out which part was the power switch, though had to officially tell me not to do it, warranty would be voided, etc, all of which is understandable in the corporate world.? ?The power switch (image of relevant portion below) has a DPST with dual NO contacts for the On button (S1), and a SPST NC contact for the Off button (S0).? does anyone know why they have a DPST for the On button?? from the diagram, it appears that a SPST NO momentary switch would be electrically equivalent.? I assume there can't be much current being switched since it is activating relays.? trying to find a 230 v DPST with dual NO contacts is a bit more challenging (and expensive) than I thought initially, whereas standard SPST NO switches are everywhere and cheap.? ?

any advice will be appreciated.??
