That is likely kosher but only with 30mm lock on 1.25¡± spindle. Folks here are planning to get 1.25¡± ProLock. I will be interested in a 30mm ProLock but not one for 1.25¡±.
I don¡¯t mean to interrupt the group¡¯s plan but just wanted to get to the bottom of this detail.
I am assuming here that 1.25¡± ProLock would not work on 30mm spindle. Maybe someone can confirm.

I am no authority on this and do agree that downward pressure is what the cutter requires. The 2 pins and bolt should center the cap so likely would avoid any balance issues. But since they did not use a single cap for 30mm and 1.25¡± spindles, it tells me that there is a possible element of safety here. I am only interested in long term solutions. So unless the OEM says it is okay I would like to hedge on the safe side.
Since Felder only makes 30mm caps maybe they are meant for both 30mm and 1.25¡± spindles. Someone can call Felder to confirm. And if that pans out it is better to get a 30mm ProLock cap so that it can be used for both spindles.

I measured the raised part on the standard cap of 30mm and 1.25¡± spindles and they are sized for each uniquely. See pics.

It makes sense that Dave Rossetti was able to install his Felder 30mm Quick Lock, on 1.25¡± spindle but I believe it is not meant to be used that way.

Yes, Dave Davies and Michael Marisco, sorry about the "No items found," and here's bit more information. I spoke with Carl Knapp (Felder sales) back when that 2020 holiday VIP special was on and he came up with the part number then added it to my order. I believe the price was $265, minus the 10% VIP discount, plus shipping, so it would indeed be nice if they could come up with some more. I placed the order in mid-December and it took til March for the order to coalesce and ship in one box (ref. the outrageous shipping rates in another FOG thread!).
