Hi Shawn,

?

As for the accuracy of planer is concerned see attached. This is just my data and is not designed for communicating to others. Hopefully, you can make sense of it. Feel free to ask any questions.

You¡¯re right, .785 is the same as 19.94mm, but .785 is the closest the indicator can get to 20mm, and since it¡¯s set up for resetting to 20mm (being made in Austria), I¡¯m thinking that when we reset, we are actually resetting to 20mm whether or not we¡¯re in metric, and it just calls is .785 if you¡¯re in imperial. My assumptions have gotten me in trouble before though. But while I¡¯m at it, why not one more assumption? These machines are incredible for repeatability to a fine tolerance in woodworking terms, but I¡¯m dubious if it is actually always getting it within .1 mm or .005¡±.

Thanks for sharing that calibration also works in inches. I obviously do not know exactly how the SW works, but with what you shared should one not caliper the material to 0.785¡±, if using inches? Seems like it would be more accurate because 20mm = 0.787¡± and 0.785¡± = 19.9mm. I know many here likely don¡¯t care about getting down to that level of accuracy for wood.

? Imran¡¯s advice worked perfect for my 941. But if you¡¯re in inches and don¡¯t want to switch to mm, you can do the same process and just mill a board to 20mm, checking with calipers, then hold the reset button, and it¡¯ll reset the number to .785.

I am using rented shop space at the moment. ?The shop has an AD 741 with Power Drive. ?The digital readout is inaccurate by about .020". ?Is there a way to reset the Power Drive to accuracy?
