Re: What air compressor for Mac's clamps?

I have the small California air.?? Had it for a couple of years now and works well.? I have it connected to and use it for my Felder clamps, RL 160 and CNC (uses air to assist the lift of the three heads) and have not had any problems other than some leaky connections.

You can have a conversation with someone standing next to a California Air.

I have the older version of the one below since 2014 no issues, I don¡¯t use a lot of air and they run my clamps and general stuff just fine, a little louder than Imran¡¯s but pretty quite?

?I bought this just for air clamps:

California Air Tools CAT-1P1060S Light & Quiet Portable Air Compressor, Silver

I comes on after ~6 cycles of dual clamps. Since then I have run air in shop and now it is used in garage for airing tires.

Per OEM listed at 56dB. The only complain I have is that it is easy to catch the pressure relief valve. Scared the dickens out of me when it happened first couple of times. They do make larger models as well which are also relatively quiet.

?About the only thing I use my dad¡¯s old craftsman air compressor for is to run Mac¡¯s clamps. ?I guess I also fill up the odd tire now and then, and blow out some irrigation lines in the fall. ?The craftsman makes a ton of noise and startles my spouse every time it starts. ?Any suggestions for something more appropriate?
