I have been watching this thread very closely since it was started and all the ideas have been awesome, but the one with the laser mounted on the magnetic base on the blade cover housing really gave me an idea.

?

I have one of those laser adapters that you attach to the bottom of your laser for fine tuning the line out on a jobsite and thought, hmm.. magnetic base... laser adapter? "Emoji" it just might work... I removed the base off the adapter and screwed the magnetic base onto the underside and can attach the laser to the threaded stud on the adapter.? What's nice is you can seriously fine tune the laser line to shine exactly where you need it for the adjustments on the adapter allow for precise movement in every direction.? I can take more pictures and post after I get it all hooked up and plugged in.

?

Here is the adapter and the base magnetic which are both on amazon?

?

Fingers crossed that it will work perfectly..

Happy holidays - I finally received my Chinese made laser from eBay.? I mounted it on a magnet and hung it on my overhead arm.? At 8 feet, the line is significantly dimmer although I can still see it which is probably good enough for aligning the tail end of a board. ?I have a bright 3 car garage with 11 LED light panels.? The laser mount is difficult to adjust. I found it easier to lock the mount and just rotate the magnet. ???

In the ad it says1-2mm wide at 1m, and 2-3mm wide at 3m. So I¡¯m guessing about 2mm, and given your blade is about 3mm, that should be fine enough.

Will this laser produce a crisp line if mounted from a 10 ft ceiling? ? A difference of 6 feet from the saw.?
