Yes. That's the hitch with the permanent overhead guard system, and my saw will have the 30" or so rip capacity, limiting the space to the right of the blade a lot. Having the ability to take off the guard or, better yet, having a guard that suspends from the ceiling (and lifts out of the way), would be idea. But that seems to be a talk ask. Wires cominng down from above creates the same obstacle. MIne is a "hobbyist" shop, so to speak, not a professional operation.?
