bill,

when i got it (used) there was dust on the clean side. i completely removed and replaced old gasket. i definitely had drop in suction prompting me to check and found filter plugged. so i adjusted brushes, let¡¯s see what happens.

others have mentioned that the filter material has been improved. that is my next step.

?Interesting,

Now the RL are quoted as 0.1 according to Felder documentation. Also the "new", current version, RL160 and RL200 have automating cleaning of the filter as an option. I am wondering how it is working as those models do not use the same filters as the 250 and up.

I do have the RL140 and the filter is a thick box, 6 to 8 inches thick, bolted to a metal frame. This is not the flimsy filter you have on a RL125/RL160. Definitively no issue with dust passing on the sides so far. For the big chips, some are left on the edge of the filter, and it seems that the suction is not affected by those big chips. When I change the bag, I use a HEPA vacuum to get rid of the dust/chips laying on the edge. Also I am not a production shop, so 5 minutes playing with the cleaning handle at the end of the day seemed to work in my case.
