Re: Shop Tour

it depends on what the top is made of and just how much pressure you exert on the clamp.. If the top is MDF, or melamine probably not.? My top is double layer of 13 ply Baltic birch so it has the "mass" to keep from distorting the hole when clamping

i wonder if the dog style (like you are showing) will work with only 3/4¡± thick top. i could not find that info on the bessey website.

Hi Imran..

I bought the Bessey hold down clamps off of Zoro they are # TW16-20-10-2K.? The adapters are from Lehigh valley abrasives and are part #?

Bessey TW16AW20 - Table Clamp Accessory, Woodworking 20mm Bench Dog Adaptor, 16mm
SKU: BSYTW16AW20

If you need the 3/4"size I have 2 that I no longer need since I went with 20mm holes

Iman,

Barth table uses hold down clamp, fast forward to 3:08 in the following youtube video, you can see the hold down clamp which is different from the Festool clamp, obviously it is faster and easier to use than Festool clamp :)

You can get the hold down clamp, but I am not sure where to get the adapter?

Randy,

which bessey hold down do you use? i have built similar table. i use festool clamps but with only 3/4¡± thick top i still needed to use a round over bit on 3/4¡± holes to get the clamps to fit.

I forgot to mention.. this entire lift table and paulk/mft top probably cost me around $1,000 for everything.? The Bessey hold downs, I found on Zoro for $29.00 each and the 20mm adapters I found online for $9.99 each.. a far cry from the $125 each from Barth?

yes..It's 2 layers of 3/4" Russian Baltic birch? with 13 plies each and a light gray plastic laminate, and yep..I used the woodpeckers jig to route 300 holes!! took me quite a long time, but it worked..

Very nice, Randy! It looks great! Is that a double layer of Baltic birch laminated with white melamine as the top? Did you drill the holes?
