Bill I don't know if the new AD941 has variable speed planing but it sure is a nice option on the AD951. I was also lucky to acquire?a jointing fence from a Dual51 which allows the use of F rail tables at both ends of the machine.

when the jointer tables are lifted the planet table is already lowered. do you mean a single button to lower the planer table so that jointer tables can be brought down.

i would not be surprised if there are internal improvements but the tables are super easy to lift and once beyond a distance you can leave them in air and would not fall.

if you do a lot of glue ups it is nice to flatten wider panels. Maybe look into the used dual51 felder has and sell yours to michael’s friend.

Are there other reasons to get the Dual 51 over the AD941 other than the larger size? My salesperson never told me about anything other than the ?741 and AD941 when I said I wanted a jointer planer combo. Should’ve done my homework I guess...
