Fair question - I like lots of light but also like ot be able to block the view from outside in, doing a shutter half way up the window and leaving the top open gives me a little of both and i think these look better than blinds

Tossing out the thoughht.
This whole talk about shutters has me wondering why on earth would u put something in a window That make it look like a jail cell. I find the whole idea of blocking your vision strange.
They also look quite ugly like divided lites.
I know I am on the wrong side of the tracks again.?

?I guess it was around 22 years ago that I made those jigs for the shutters.? Here is a picture from that article and a picture of one of the jigs.? I would have used baltic birch if I made the jigs today.? At the time, I upgraded them to have toggle clamps.? I always liked the traditional design with the mid tilt rod.? Personal preference. ? Interesting to see this topic as I am planning to make shutters soon and it has certainly been awhile!? I was looking for really nice polished nickel hinges-hardware.? If anyone has a link to where one can get something better than the Rockler offerings, that would be much appreciated. ?
