The Nordfab custom elbow has very little flexibility during installation as far as changing the angle is concerned.? I chose this option when I ordered by ClearVue cyclone and Nordfab duct.? I ordered a custom angle elbow to connect the cyclone to the main run.? As a result, my duct is not as close to the ceiling as I'd like, but so far, it has not been a problem.? I have planned to buy the rigid flex duct from Nordfab so see if I can raise the duct up higher, but since my current set up is working fine, I procrastinated.? So, I can't comment on its performance.??
I designed my entire Nordfab ducting run using Sketchup.? I referenced Nordfab latest catalog, use the part number to search the 3D model database, pick the part, and build the run piece by piece (after I build a model of my shop/garage in Sketchup).? It is very precise.? Afterward, Sketcup generates a part list, plug it in Excel, and you have a quote bases on the catalog's prices.? I tried the design services of one of the Nordfab distributors, but gave up before I tried doing it myself.? The added benefit of this is that I now can change, extend, shrink the duct work in software before I make change in real time.
