Agree with Brian G on his points about rolling offsets - I have employed them with my Nordfab kit and they are a bit shorter and a good bit more efficient in terms of loss versus sticking to strictly orthogonal?layouts.
Brian L, I love the garbage can separator, it must be the best dust collection bodge I have yet to see. It looks low- loss, suction will keep the lid on tight -- how does it do at separation effectiveness, e.g., what % does it collect? This looks very good for keeping fine dust from the far end where I'm thinking of adding the compression thingy to convert planar shavings into fuel pellets.

That¡¯s a 45 degree fitting that runs at 15ish into the dc.? If you use 2 or more you can get shorter and fancier, but with dc longer runs between bends is better anyway.

Joe, without seeing a potential layout it's extremely hard to offer advice but in my delusional mind and see a solution that only relies on ready made pieces using tees and large radius elbows. No flex or custom made elbows necessary.
