Will, the original '68 spear is a laminated piece where the raised ridge down the center is chrome with the Red, White, Blue marking on the right end. Then the recessed/non-raised part is black. Then

Oh ok, thanks. I never knew they were supposed to be black. My father had the one in my car replaced years ago with one from a Ranchero. Don't know if he replaced the spear with one from a '69 or not.
