Brad, Thank you for the pics. Steve and Brad, As I recall my '68 vert (early Jan '68 build date) had 4 of those front seat "tower" spacers (3rd & 4th pics), 2 on the back of each bucket seat. When I put the interior back in I didn't reinstall the "tower" spacers which slightly and nicely reclined and lowered the seats. For me, making it easier to get in and more comfortable. YMMV. Steve, Brad's underside pics show the stiffening plate bolted in place how an where it should be. Which the pics I sent you showed it uninstalled out of the car and the pics of the original stiffening plate & a original mounting bolt (total of 6 are used) with measurements. This due to me needing to make spacers so the stiffening plate would clear the larger diameter 2008 Crown Vic PI (Police Interceptor) aluminum driveshaft I retrofitted in. Top 2 back holes in middle have little stands that bucket seats are on. Looks like there is a flat reinforcement piece on 2 middle bolts under car. Can see image for it in undercoating. Screwdrivers though floor shows where holes come through. |
