Re: Mustang brake upgrade

Hey Will,

That is a great option, and Rock Auto will have ll the parts new. ?I found a Granada in
the pick a part a few years ago and took all the parts for my wagon, but they would not fin
the the wheels that I wanted to use. ?I am not certain how many of these can still be found
in junk yards, but a great budget option for sure.?

Jay, not sure what kind of budget your friend has, I didn't have much of one at the time. I found out Granada disc brakes and the spindles will fit on Mustangs and Fairlanes. That's what I ended up doing on my 68 Fairlane. It was a non power drum brake car too, didn't go with a? booster. Had to use Granada tie rod ends and switched master to a Maverick one. The best decision I ever made on the car. I was looking at the disc brake kits out there, but saved about $400 doing it the way I did.

I know some of you are Mustang gurus and that the answer would be the same for the fairlane. I have a friend with a 69 Mustang V8 with non power shoe brakes. He would like to add at least front disc brakes to improve braking. What vendor would you recommend and would you also add power booster?
