Was at a junkyard yesterday picking up my interior trim. Asked the owner(84 years old) if he had anymore Torino’s/Fairlanes. He said he had four or five one being a two owner 68 Fairlane 500 four door sedan. Dash was in ok shape as was the dash spear. He said he would sell the spear but wasn’t crazy about the idea of removing the dash. One hour or so later I had the dash removed and the spear out. Attaching picture of the 68 spear along with my orginal spear from my 69. All the post match up and I can’t tell any different from the two spears other than color differences. Interesting the blue of the 68 spear has a teal / fluorescent tint to it.?

I know that they are different, I just don't know how much they are different.? I could be that the

68 units just did not hold up, so a change was made in 69 to help with that.? I doubt that would

be the whole story.? I say this because the guages were black in 68 and silver in 69, so I feel like

some of the spear changes are going to be tied to that.

So if you ever get to see a perfect one (I know they exist) take pictures for me.? I know the NPD

car is supposed to be like new. But I have never seen it.?
