We meet at the intersection of Ester Dome Rd and Henderson Rd at 6:30 pm. Bring bug dope, rain gear (current forecast says we may not need it, but we're in Alaska!) Water for you and your fuzzy buddy, and if you have a pup along bring a leash in case it's needed. Carol will tell us which of the trails up there we're hiking when we get there!

BLM seeks Comments on Proposal to Expand Tour Operations in the White Mountains National Recreation Area

Folks,

BLM is asking for comments on a proposal by Borealis Basecamp to expand tour operations in the White Mountains National Recreation Area. According to the , the proposal would allow them to double the number of snow machine tours they are doing, as well as begin seasonal scenic helicopter flights five times a day as low as 1,500 feet above ground.?

rain jacket left at Wickersham

Hey all
I've also posted this to the FB page, but thought some folks don't do FB. Today a few of us hiked to get the Trails Challenge sign on Wickersham, and then started up the summit trail. We took the first social trail that heads up the hill, up to the first rocky outcrop on the summit ridge. Since it was foggy and windy up there, we decided to go back down and pick berries instead of summiting. So the jacket is somewhere between the trailhead, the first peak along the ridge, or in the shrubs along the trail.?

It's a Zpacks Vertice blue jacket, attaching a photo. I hope someone finds it and I can get it back! Such a nice jacket.?

Happy hiking y'all!
