I am exploring the same questions and am currently looking at what is possible with?
It seems to have some good ideas and potential. There is room for improvement and I have no idea about security, but an interesting starting point.
It creates serendipity, with some design and intention you would be able to create some very interesting interactions and dynamics.

I look?forward to hear other ideas.

One hack I want to try is to use a personal meeting room on zoom, have it available during transition times between sessions, promote, and include some fun stuff like a visit from a Llama. But was wondering if there were platforms that we were designed for this??
