Re: accommodating hard of hearing in Zoom - captioning options?

Ah, gotcha! Learning. I wouldn't know how to access those channels as separate.?

the accuracy of automated translation drops significantly as each voice is added to the inputl, especially where there is overlapping speech.
VoIP solutions like Zoom and Webex maintain a separate channel for each voice that they could present as a separate stream to the voice to text translation module.
This would improve the accuracy of? multi-voice translation (or cut the error rate by an order of magnitude). You need time stamps to be able to produce a single integrated transcript if you process the streams independently.

I don¡¯t know what you mean by different lines, but time stamping is a OneNote feature and could do that part.?

Need to test.?

can you feed multiple speakers audio in from different lines and get a time stamped transcript ?

Technically, Office 365 can do that.

Here's the exact, no-edit transcript it did with Word Online, in real time, of Carrie Fisher roasting George Lucas, using "Dictate."

"±õ¡¯³¾?Mrs?Han Solo and I'm an alcoholic?I'm an alcoholic because George Lucas ruined my life?I mean that in the nicest possible way 57 years ago?i?did his little Star Wars film a cult film that then went on to redefine what they laughingly referred to as the face of cinema and now 65 years later people?are?still asking me if I knew it was going to be that?the hit yes?I knew we all knew the only one who didn't know was George we kept it from him because we wanted to see what his face looked like when it changed expression?George is a sadist?but like any?abused?child wearing a metal bikini changed to a giant slug about to die?I keep coming back for more.?"

I don't know how long it can go, but it didn't seem to have any glitches.

As an alternative to captioning I am very interested in any service that can transcribe the conversation in real time in a shared edit environment (e.g. Google Doc).
It should leverage the fact that on a VoIP call each in voice stream is separate and can be processed stand-alone first (to avoid cross talk and multi-voice problems that confound current dictation tools--included REV). I had suggested this to REV a year ago but they rejected it as off strategy. It's really just a variant on subtitles that is much more useful for contributing to shared note taking models of on-line facilitation.

If folks are aware of tools that can use Zoom or other on-line meeting tools as a live front end to real time transcription (let's say 10-15 second lag) I would be very interested in pointers.
