The cheaper lathe has a bunch more tooling and almost
half the price on buy-it-now. Change gears, drawbar collet
closer, 3 jaw... If I didn't already have one I would
jump at it. The collet closer and the change gears
are pretty damn pricey new. If he would consider
parting it out...
The longer I stare at it, the more potential the dirty one has. Might
clean up pretty nicely. Looks like a quick change toolpost.
Well I went and paid Blue Ridge for a manual. It is actually
in OK condition. (certainly compared to the V10P manual I
got from them). If I can figure out how to scan it easily
(it is duplex) I can get you a copy.
That would be really useful. I'll even help offset the cost.
Figured out how to cut down a steady rest from a 12 x 36 chinese lathe
to fit, looks like it's going to work quite nicely. The 5mt to 3mt
nose bushing from the same lathes can be cut down to fit also, but it
takes a lot of patience to work thru the dang thing. Its pretty hard,
and has to be shortened by over an inch.
Did you get yours running yet?
