Re: Schematics to Circuit Board?
Some of you should look in ftp.cdrom.com... i forgot which directory
it's in, it's in the assmbly and engineering directory, I downloaded
the entire archive and burned that onto 2 CD-Roms, a HUGE

Thanks Jim,
My purpose is not so complicated. I will use this alarm when I'm not

the speaker will not use to play any other sound

Yeh,
A Pic and a Pot.
A PIC or Scenix/Ubicon microcontroller and a pot. The uC can read the pot value and calculate any scale you want.

I wish to control the time a DC moter is on and off over a wide range.
Say "ON" for 10 Sec to 10 Min; and "Off" for similar periods with 1 -

Re: Education Questions for Electronic Technicians
Mark,
Of course, but as circuits get complex the construction method can impact the
viability of the circuit. Did it fail because the design was flawed or because
it was poorly constructed. Beside

enrico,
Why not create software that dials your home phone, then all you have need is
hardware that switches the phone to hands free mode.
The problem with that is that the speaker creates various

You've never built a circuit on a block of wood? Or tacked leads together and sort of crumpled the thing together inside a little box?
My current favorite technique uses cardboard. Draw the circuit

Re: LED Driver Circuit
There are lots of circuits that do this. You can make one from discrete components (dual or quad 741's, I think) using one of Forrest Mims III's circuits in the Radio Shack literature--I think it's

As others have said, you're clearly doing a good job and have had to deal with an unpleasant parent. I feel bad for his kid.

Mounir,
The circuitry would be similar to LED VU meters on stereos.
When such a circuit is mass produced they don't cost much
individually but your circuit is probably somewhat
specialized. What will

A linear change would provide no gain. An input change of 100 micro amperes
would produce a similar output change. You need a higher output for there to be
