is it possible to change the 1/4" jacks of a distortion pedal to rca

Yes, but it would be easier to use an adapter to convert 1/4" to an RCA
phono jack. The mechanical connection with an RCA plug/jack is much less
reliable than the 1/4" and will pull out a lot easier, which could be very
inconvenient when you are playing, not to mention the additional noise that
will be introduced. The poor connection (compared to the 1/4") will raise
hell with ground loop problems too. Gold plated connectors are a must to
minimize these potential problems - even with an adapter. Good luck with
whatever you decide.
